OUR STORY

Altavady Group founders, Viv and Simon Laming have been involved in the North Otago agriculture industry for over 40 years. Initially by establishing a veterinary business and later moving into farm ownership. Two of their children with their families share ownership and manage the day-to-day running of the farms. BECKY & JOE

Becky and Joe operate Providence and Fortitude Farms with their five children, James, Luke, Mark, Clare, and Annie.

Joe grew up in Oamaru and graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering with Honours, then pursued Project engineering roles in Australia.

Becky grew up on a sheep farm in Garston and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours. She held accountancy roles in Australia and studied to become a Chartered Accountant.

Becky and Joe returned to North Otago in 2012 to begin a career in the dairy industry. They strive to operate a successful business driven by sustainable and productive management of pasture and cows. Becky and Joe are passionate about producing quality milk, business development, and creating a rewarding and supportive work environment for their staff and their families.

KATE & ADAM

Kate and Adam manage Altavady Farm with their three daughters Hazel, Darcy, and Sage.

Adam grew up on a sheep and beef farm in South Otago then continued to work in shearing and crutching before qualifying as an exterior plasterer in 2008 establishing a plastering business in partnership in 2014.

Kate grew up in Oamaru. She holds a degree in Chemical and Process Engineering with Honors and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). She held management and project engineering roles in the energy sector before pursuing a career in agriculture.

Both Adam and Kate are passionate about New Zealand agriculture and sustainable food production. They focus on an integrated approach to farming business, considering all sources of capital that contribute to wellbeing & sustainable outcomes.
